All Progressives Congress leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has cancelled the mega colloquium organised to mark his 70th birthday in Lagos.
This is as a result of the tragic mood in the country, owing to the bombing of a train on Abuja-Kaduna route on Monday.
Many dignitaries from different parts of the country had on Tuesday gathered at the Eko Hotels, celebrating Tinubu.
He, however, had to announce to the crowd after the opening prayers that, as a statesman, he could not bear the celebration while many had been killed.
“I just learnt that over 60 people perished in the attack, and that is too bad for our security and safety in the country.”
At the event were several governors, other politicians and businessmen such as Alhaji Aliko Dangote and Femi Otedola.
