Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar Junior has expressed his frustration at the late penalty decision that led to his side being knocked out of the Champions League by Manchester United
Referee Damir Skomina consulted VAR before deciding to award United a penalty after Diogo Dalot’s volley struck PSG defender Presnel Kimpembe on the arm.
Marcus Rashford stepped up to score the spot-kick, with United winning 3-1 on the night and proceeding to the final eight on away goals after the tie finished 3-3.
Neymar, who wasn’t able to feature due to a foot injury, was left frustrated by the decision and was seen expressing anger on the touchline in the closing stages of the game.
The Brazil international then took to Instagram to hit out at referee’s decision, claiming that he and the other officials involved ‘do not understand football’.
Neymar wrote: ‘This is shameful! And they still let 4 guys that do not understand football look at the slow motion video, this doesn’t happen! How is he going to take his hand out when he’s on his back! Oh go f*** yourself “.
PSG were also knocked out of the Champions League at the last-16 stage by Real Madrid last season.
