A political support group, Northern Elders Progressive Group, has described the President Bola Tinubu’s endorsement by the citizens of Zamfara as a timely encouragement for good leadership.
This is contained in a statement signed by the group’s Coordinator, Alhaji Yusuf Abubakar and made available to the newsmen on Monday in Sokoto.
Abubakar praised the Minister of State for Defence and former Governor of Zamfara, Alhaji Bello Matawalle, for his good vision in politics and efforts towards ending security challenges in the country.
He said the minister’s visit to Zamfara had impacted on the state’s stability and had yielded the desired goals of hope in the Northern states.
” It is a blessed visit going by the achievements so far recorded especially with the measures taken by the military operations to ensure continuous onslaughts against bandits enclaves.
” Military operations against bandits will continue to be an alternative way of bringing an end of banditry and other elements of insecurity challenges in the region.
”We must commend the role of Matawalle by supporting the military operations that positively helped to destroy many bandits enclaves in Zamfara, Katsina, Kaduna, Sokoto and Kebbi, in spite of the publicised dialogues and reconciliation with some bandits’ leaders,” Abubakar said.
He also appreciated the efforts of Operation Fansan Yamma and further appealed for continuous support from the Tinubu to increase the operational facilities in order to boost the morale of the gallant troops, particularly in Zamfara and Katsina, Sokoto and Kaduna.
” We commend the decisions taken by the people of Zamfara in supporting and endorsing Tinubu to continue with his good efforts after 2027, ” he added.
The group also commended the efforts of the gallant troops in making the lives of people safer through their constant operations against insecurity and other criminal elements.
