Ododo urges corps members to uphold unity and national service

Kogi State Governor Ahmed Ododo has called on National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members deployed to the state to be ambassadors of peace, unity, and discipline.

Speaking during a visit to the NYSC Orientation Camp in Asaya, Ijumu Local Government Area, on Thursday, Ododo reaffirmed his government’s commitment to improving the welfare of corps members.

He encouraged. them to embrace the ideals of the NYSC scheme and contribute meaningfully to the development of Kogi State and the nation at large

He emphasised the importance of unity, discipline, and hard work, and encouraged corps members to take their duties seriously and  demonstrate pstriotism at all times..

Ododo assured the corps members that Kogi remained peaceful and that his administration would continue to support and protect them throughout their say in the state.

“You are the future of Nigeria.

“Take your duties seriously, be patriotic, and leave a lasting impact in your host communities.

“Kogi State is peaceful, and we will continue to support and protect you throughout your stay, ” he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the governor donated an undisclosed amount of money to the corps members currently undergoing the three-week orientation programme in the state to boost their morale.

In his remark, the NYSC Coordinator in the state, Mr Femi Osungbohun, thanked the governor for the surprise visit and gesture.

He noted that the gesture was a reflection of his administration’s genuine interest in the well-being of Nigerian youths.

 

The official  assured the governor of corps members’ loyalty and  commitment to the development of their host communities and the state in general
