The Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Suleiman-Adamu has enjoined Nigerians to pray for peace, prosperity and economic stability in the country.
He stated this during the inauguration of the Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi Islamic Center and Mosque, on Friday in Bauch.
Suleiman-Adamu said that such prayers were imperative towards addres6s economic and security challenges bedevilling the country.
“People find it hard to feed three times a day, a very pathetic situation indeed,” he said.
The royal father called for proactive measures to address hike in food prices and insecurity as well as eradicate poverty and enhance wealth creation in the society.
Also, an Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ibrahim Bauchi, urged leaders at all levels to prioritise programmes that would improve the wellbeing of the people.
He also admornished wealthy individuals to assist the needy, and support governments’ efforts towards mitigating the economic hardship in the country.
“We should continue to pray for Nigeria, and our leaders to prioritise the wellbeing of the most vulnerable in our society.
“Leaders at all levels of governance should recognise the urgency of the economic challenges facing our nation, and to take concrete action to provide support for vulnerable in the society,” he said.
Alhaji Maijamaa Wunti, a Patron of the Wunti Alkhairi Foundation, which donated the centre, said the project was part of intervention aimed at enhancing access to education, create employment opportunities and support vulnerable persons.
He said the project was designed with a mosque, school, lecture hall, among others, and urged the Bauchi community to ensure effective utilisation of the facility.
