New Nigeria Peoples Party presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwakwanso, has okayed the combination of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima as the presidential candidate and running mate of the All Progressives Party.
He described the two as good men, while saying Tinubu is a good long-time friend.
Speaking on ‘Arise TV’, on Sunday, however, Kwakwanso said the platform on which they were standing was the problem.
Accoding to him, the APC does no seem to have anything to offer Nigeria, asking what else would they do based on how President Muhammadu Buhari has conducted the affairs of he counrty.
Before the presidential primaries, Tinubu had meetings with Kwakwanso, with observers thinking the former governor of Kano State would move to the APC.
Tinubu had also tried to bring Kwankwanso and his successor, Abdullahi Ganduje, together, as they became estranged as soon as soon as Kwakwanso passed the baton to him.
Meanwhile, Ganduje is Tinubu’s ally, with whom he had been nurturing the presidential ambition.
Ganduje was one of the figures considered for the running mate slot.
