A 33-year-old warehouse manager, Adrian Ogbuta, on Wednesday appeared in an Ogudu Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, for allegedly stealing 79 packs of Pepsi softdrink, worth N72, 680 and N648, 000 cash.

The police charged Ogbuta alongside Oluwakemi Olorunwa, 56 with four counts of conspiracy, assault, theft and receiving stolen property.

They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecution counsel, Insp. Donjour Perezi, told the court that the defendants committed the offence with two others, who are at large on Dec.16, 2020 at 11. 40 a.m at Silo Nekengs Ltd at No. 1, Victoria St., Ojota, Lagos.

Perezi alleged that Ogbuta went to the warehouse with his accomplices and assaulted the sales representative.

He said that they made away with 79 packs of Pepsi drinks worth N72, 680 and N648, 000 cash, being money realised from sales for the day.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Perezi said the offence contravened the provisions of sections 171(2), 287(7), 328(1) and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

Magistrate O.A. Daodu admitted the Ogbuta to bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum and Olorunwa to N50, 000 bail with one surety in like sum.

Daodu adjourned the case until Jan. 26 for mention.
