Activist and filmmaker Stanley Ontop has expressed frustration after actress Regina Daniels was spotted at the residence of her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, months after their highly publicised marital crisis.

A video of Regina at Nwoko’s residence surfaced online, prompting fresh speculation about the status of their relationship and raising questions over whether the former couple could be moving towards reconciliation.

The development has also triggered an emotional reaction from Ontop, who was among the most vocal public supporters of Regina during the height of her marital dispute with Nwoko.

In a series of Instagram videos shared on September 6, Ontop said the development had left him feeling embarrassed, particularly because of the position he had taken publicly in support of the actress.

According to him, he had previously assured activists and online platforms that Regina would not return to Nwoko’s residence.

He said the latest development had now placed him in a difficult position with people who had supported his advocacy on her behalf.

“You made me look like a fool,” Ontop reportedly said while expressing his disappointment over the situation.

He also recalled his earlier involvement in the controversy, claiming that he narrowly avoided arrest at the Maitama Police Station over his role in the matter.

Although Ontop acknowledged that Regina could have visited the residence to spend time with her two sons, who live with their father, he questioned why she did not inform him or her brothers about the visit.

His comments appeared to stem largely from the level of trust and support that had developed between him and Regina during the period of her marital troubles.

Ontop further questioned the decision to return to the home of a man he had previously described as her “oppressor”, intensifying the emotional tone of his reaction.

However, Regina’s sister, Destiny Daniels, moved to dispel speculation that the visit signalled a reconciliation between the actress and Nwoko.

According to Destiny, Regina’s presence at the residence was simply related to her children and should not be interpreted as evidence that the couple had reconciled.

The development has since reignited debate online about public involvement in private relationships, with Ontop’s reaction highlighting the risks that can arise when advocates become deeply involved in other people’s personal disputes.

For now, Regina’s visit has generated more questions than answers, while her family’s explanation appears to have ruled out reading the encounter as confirmation of a romantic reunion.
