Nigerian Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido is back in the Grammy conversation, with his sixth studio album, Oriadé, submitted for consideration at the 2027 Grammy Awards as he continues his pursuit of his first win.
Released on July 31, 2026, Oriadé contains 13 tracks and features artists including; Black Sherif, Mayorkun, Aya Nakamura, NO11, JAZZWRLD, FOLA, Leon Thomas and Llona.
The project blends Afrobeats with Highlife and Afro-R&B influences, presenting another opportunity for the singer to gain recognition from the Recording Academy.
The album was submitted in four categories: Album of the Year, Best Global Music Album, Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical, and Best Album Cover.
Other entries from Davido include B4 B4, featuring Mayorkun and FOLA, Nakupenda, Le Show and I Know Who I Be.
Davido’s Grammy journey has so far produced five nominations.
In 2024, his album Timeless and songs Unavailable, featuring Musa Keys, and Feel earned nominations.
He received another nomination in 2025 for Sensational, his collaboration with Chris Brown and Lojay, followed by a 2026 nomination for With You, featuring Omah Lay.
Despite these recognitions, he has yet to win the award.
With Oriadé, Davido has another opportunity to compete for international recognition.
The album’s range of collaborations and musical influences could broaden its appeal, although its success in the Grammy race will depend on the Recording Academy’s eligibility screening and voting process.
The 2027 Grammy nominations are scheduled to be announced on November 16, 2026, with the awards ceremony set for February 7, 2027.
For Davido, the latest submissions mark another chapter in a Grammy journey that has brought nominations but no victory so far.
