The Kebbi State Police Command has confirmed the release of Justice Faruk Bunza, a High Court judge who was abducted from his residence in Bunza Local Government Area of the state.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Bashir Usman, disclosed this in a statement on Monday, saying the judge regained his freedom after spending about one week in captivity.

Usman said that although the kidnappers demanded a ransom, the command maintained its position against paying criminals.

He added that the police, in collaboration with other security agencies, had intensified investigations to track down those responsible and bring them to justice.

The police spokesperson appealed to members of the public to support the investigation by providing credible information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects, assuring residents that all information would be treated confidentially.

He also urged the public to report useful information through the command’s emergency control room numbers: 09039911876 and 07081074395.
