Kidnap of 2 journalists worsen security situation in Kaduna

The security situation in Kaduna is getting more alarming as the State Police Command has confirmed the kidnapping of two journalists and their families in Kaduna at about 10:30pm on Saturday.

Parts of the state have been bedevilled by killings, arson and kidnapping.

It has been a source of worry for stakeholders.

overlay-cleverThe Command’s spokesman, Mansir Hassan, confirmed the development to the News Agency of Nigeria.

Hassan said the command’s operatives were trying their best to secure their release.

He said: “We have deployed our operatives into the bush where the kidnappers are suspected to be.”

The Police Public Relations Officer identified the victims as Abdulgafar Alabelewe, Chairman, Correspondents’ Chapel, Kaduna State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, and three of his family members, who were kidnapped at Danhono 2, Millennium City, Kaduna.
