The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has confirmed that one of its officials died by suicide in Abuja on Monday.
It has, however, yet to give details of the incident as it noted that investigation was going on.
The victim’s identity has also not been revealed.
Speaking on the incident, the EFCC spokesman, Dele Oyewale, told PRNigeria that an investigation was underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the sad incident.
He added that the agency was exploring possible factors, including mental health and family challenges, that may have contributed to the operative committing suicide.
Oyewale said the Commission would not issue any statement or release the operative’s name pending the conclusion of the investigation.
