Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri

Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa has described the demise of Hama Bachama, late Stephen Irmiya, as a great loss to the state and Nigeria in general.

Fintiri, who made this known in a condolence message signed by his Press Secretary, Mr Humwashi Wonosikou, on Sunday in Yola, extended his condolences to the Bachama kingdom and the family of the late monarch.

The governor said that the late paramount ruler has secured his place in history by his exemplary commitment to peace, unity and political stability of the nation and the state.

“Governor Fintiri regrets the King’s sudden demise particularly at a period like this, when His vast experience and royal stewardship are needed.

“The late monarch, who reigned for only eight years, was a true, honest, steadfast, committed and highly dependable leader whose contributions to the growth of modern Adamawa through strong support and advice, will be missed,” Fintiri said.

The governor prayed God to grant him eternal rest and the family to bear the irreparable loss.

The late Hama Bachama was buried on Sunday according to the Bachama traditional rites in Lamurde, the headquarters of Bachama chiefdom.
