The heat generated by the collapse of a building in Ita-Faji, Lagos Island, is yet to abate even as the state government has started the demolition of 150 houses said to have failed integrity test.
Also unprecedented is a move by many teachers and students said to be from different private schools who, on Friday, marched on the site of the collapsed building.
‘The Telegraph’ reports that one of their grievances was that schools should have been given holiday to mourn dead pupils and teachers.
“They also called on the government to pull down every distressed building on the Lagos Island to check further loss of lives,” it added.
