Nigerian DJ and philanthropist, Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has shared her excitement after Prince William expressed interest in checking out her music.
The entertainer’s revelation highlights an unexpected moment involving the Prince of Wales, who is known for his royal duties and charitable work.
Beyond music, Cuppy has also expressed pride in being the youngest patron of the Amos Bursary, an organisation that supports talented Black students and helps them access opportunities to achieve their potential.
In an Instagram post reflecting on the encounter, Cuppy described Prince William’s promise as an unexpected highlight of her year.
She wrote, “HRH Prince William saying he’d check out my music was deffo not on my 2026 bingo card!!”.
The meeting took place during Prince William’s visit to the Amos Bursary in east London on October 14, 2026, as part of activities marking Black History Month in the United Kingdom.
For Cuppy, the moment also highlighted her commitment to supporting young people through education.
As the bursary’s youngest patron, she expressed pride in helping fund talented Black students and invest in their futures.
Her post brought together two aspects of her work: her career in music and her involvement in initiatives that create opportunities for the next generation.
While Prince William’s promise to check out her music gave the encounter a playful highlight, her message also drew attention to the educational cause she supports.
