The Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Saturday’s election in Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has come out victorious, defeating the All Progressives Congress’ candidate, Adebayo Adelabu.
Not even the united forces of Governor Abiola Ajimobi and his predecessor, Also Akala, could stop Makinde.
Declaring the result in Ibadan on Sunday, INEC Returning Officer in the state, Prof Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, said tMakinde scored 515,621 votes to defeat Adelabu, who secured 357,982.
Ogundipe, who is the Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos, said there were 2,934,107 registered voters in the state with 940,211 voters accredited for the election.
