Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has asked the Inspector General of Police, Muhammed Adamu, to arrest his predecessor, Adams Oshiuomhole.
Obaseki said the man, who is also the All Progressives Congress Chairman, had been causing violence in the state.
Both have been in supremacy battle for some time.
The Deputy Governor, he Deputy Governor, Philip Shuaibu, who broke the news to journalists in Abuja, on Monday, said a copy of the petition would also be sent to the Department of State Services.
According to him, Oshiuomhole has been igniting violence in the state by going against the state government order banning police rallies.
