With his victory at the All Africa Music Award on Saturday night, ‘Dangote still day find money’ singer, Burna Boy, may have proved that he is no longer a boy in the African, indeed, global house of music.
As he did at the Headies recently, Burna Boy asserted his closeness to the legendary realm when he emphatically won the AFRIMA African Artiste of the Year at the event held in Lagos.
The award, for him, also seems to provide a promising stepping stone concerning his Grammy nomination.
Based on the penetrating flow and acceptance of his music, not a few people believe that he stands a great chance of breaking the jinx at the Grammy.
The AFRIMA 2019, however, also awarded other stars such as Wizkid, Tuface and veteran Awilo Logomba.
While Wiz Kid’s song, ‘Fever’, featuring Tiwa Savage, was declared Africa Song of the Year,
Awilo, from DR Congo and Idibia won the 2019 legendary award. (NAN)
