Unlawful possession of firearm: Kogi Court sentences man 18-month

Justice D.U. Okorowo of the Federal High Court Lokoja has sentenced one Mr RichardĀ  John Abdullahi to 18 months in prison with hard labour for unlawful puossession of fire arms.

The Kogi State Public Relation Officer, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC), Alex Agiri, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday when the command secured the court judgement.

Agiri said the command arrested the convict when they were on routine patrol beside Mountain of Fire Church Phase II in Lokoja.

The NSCDC PRO stated that, the convict during cross examination by its counselĀ E.S Onu, pleaded not guilty when he was charged under miscellaneous offence act.

The judgement, according to the statement, was delivered on 24th October, 2019.

Agiri added that, the NSCDC, Kogi State Command remains committed towards protecting critical infrastructures in the country stressing that, they will continue to collaborate with other security agencies towards protecting lives and properties in the state.
