Two men have been arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan over allegations of being in possession of a stolen motorcycle.
The defendants, 58-year-old Saliu Suara and 24-year-old Oluwasegun Adeyemi, are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and unlawful possession of property. Both men pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Police prosecutor ASP Olagoke Adegbenro told the court that the defendants were apprehended at the Iyana-Church area of Ibadan with an unregistered TVS motorcycle and four side mirrors suspected to be stolen. He stated that the duo failed to give a satisfactory account of how they came about the items, an offence contrary to the Criminal Law of Oyo State.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs. Olasinmibo Sanusi, granted each defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The case was adjourned until November 16 for hearing.
