The United States has revoked more than 300,000 visas since President Donald Trump began his second term in January 2025, as his administration intensifies immigration enforcement.

The State Department disclosed the figure on Tuesday, marking a significant increase from the more than 175,000 visa revocations reported on August 10.

State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott announced the latest figure on X, saying the administration “has revoked more visas at a faster pace than any administration in history.”

He added that the government had “zero tolerance for foreigners here on visas who break the law, commit fraud, or undermine our national security.”

Although Trump campaigned in 2024 on curbing illegal immigration, his administration has also tightened legal immigration requirements, including imposing expensive fees on certain work visas.

According to State Department documents obtained by The Associated Press, the department is also expected to revoke B1 and B2 visas issued between 2016 and 2026 to holders who have sought asylum or are currently seeking it.

The State Department will carry out the action in coordination with the Department of Homeland Security.
