The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has expressed condolences to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) over the death of its personnel and others in an aircraft crash in Ondo State.

The NDLEA Chairman, retired Brig.-Gen. Buba Marwa, conveyed the agency’s condolences in a letter addressed to the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke.

The letter was signed by the NDLEA Director, Media and Advocacy, Mr Femi Babafemi, at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday.

Marwa expressed sympathy to the leadership, officers and personnel of the NAF, as well as the families of those who lost their lives in the crash.

He described the incident as devastating and said the news was received with profound grief.

Marwa commended the NAF for its patriotism, gallantry and commitment to defending and securing the nation.

He said the loss of personnel who dedicated their lives to national service was a severe blow to the NAF, the country and the wider national security community.

“In this moment of deep sorrow, our thoughts and prayers are with the grieving families of the fallen heroes, as well as the entire NAF family,” Marwa said.

He prayed that God would comfort the bereaved families, strengthen the NAF and grant the deceased eternal rest.

Marwa also assured the NAF of the solidarity and support of the entire NDLEA family as the Air Force and bereaved families go through the difficult period.
