Nigerian dancer and entertainer Iweh Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, has spoken about his recent legal ordeal in the United Kingdom, saying he remained confident throughout because he believed he was innocent of the allegations against him.
Poco Lee made the comments during a video conversation with social commentator VeryDarkMan, who shared the footage on Instagram on Sunday, September 13. The entertainer said his main concerns during the period were about his associates and business activities rather than the allegations themselves.
“I was just being myself; God sees my heart. My only worries were about my people: Jago could not do anything business-wise; I didn’t want to stress anyone,” he said.
“If I were inside there and I did what I was accused of, I would have felt I was paying for my sins, but since I knew I didn’t do what I was accused of, my mind is pure. Nobody would have wanted to associate themselves with something like that, but Burna Boy stood by me, Jago, and some of my other guys.”
VeryDarkMan also expressed support for Poco Lee and questioned the circumstances surrounding reports about the entertainer’s situation in the UK. He also acknowledged the support shown to Poco Lee by singer Burna Boy and social media personality Rahman Jago.
The comments come amid conflicting reports online about the status of the criminal case against Poco Lee in the UK. Some reports claimed that he had been released from prison, while others suggested that the complainant had withdrawn from the case or that the matter had been settled out of court. However, the Crown Prosecution Service said the case remained active.
The CPS Press Office confirmed that Odinaka was still scheduled to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on September 15, 2026.
“This case is still live, and Odinaka is still set to appear for a PTPH at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 15 September 2026,” the CPS said.
The hearing is a Plea and Trial Preparation Hearing, a pre-trial proceeding dealing with a defendant’s plea and preparations for trial. The CPS did not state whether Odinaka was currently in custody or had been granted bail.
Odinaka is facing five sexual offence charges in the UK, comprising attempted rape, two counts of rape and two counts of assault by penetration.
The case reportedly followed his visit to the UK for the Davido and Friends concert at Crystal Palace Bowl in London on August 14. Snaresbrook Crown Court had earlier confirmed that his case was listed for a plea and trial preparation hearing on September 15.
The court also imposed a reporting restriction to protect the identity of the complainant under Section 1 of the Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act 1992.
Poco Lee has denied committing the alleged offences. The charges remain before the court and have not been determined, and he has not been convicted of any offence.
