Chelsea started their Premier League campaign on the right foot, edging past Fulham 3-2 in a dramatic season opener at Craven Cottage to give Xabi Alonso a victory in his first official game in charge.
The Blues got off to a flying start when summer arrival João Pedro scored just 31 seconds into his debut. Josh King equalized for Fulham in the 23rd minute, but Morgan Rogers restored Chelsea’s lead before halftime. Cole Palmer made it 3-1 early in the second half, and despite Gonzalo García pulling one back for Fulham shortly after, Chelsea held firm through late pressure to grab all three points.
