Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala has personally addressed supporters after collapsing on the pitch for the second time in four days, revealing he has been diagnosed with treatable absence seizures caused by a neurological dysfunction.

The 23-year-old Germany international caused major concern after going down disoriented against RB Leipzig on Saturday, before suffering another episode just eight minutes after coming off the bench against FC Heidenheim.

Neurological experts have confirmed there is no additional health risk, clearing Musiala to continue playing under medical monitoring.

What Musiala Said

“First and foremost, I’m doing well! I’m especially grateful for all your messages and support.

I have been diagnosed with temporarily occurring, brief absence seizures, which are treatable and are caused by a neurological dysfunction. These can lead to the moments that have happened recently, such as against Leipzig and now in Heidenheim.

I know that these moments can seem scary at first glance — but for me, they are currently part of my everyday life. I am receiving the best possible medical treatment for this, and I am very optimistic.

Most importantly, there is no additional health risk beyond this. With clearance from neurological specialists, it was my personal wish to continue doing what helps me most: simply living my everyday life and playing football.”
