Arsenal opened the 2026-27 English football season in total dominant style today, cruising past Manchester City 3-0 at the Principality Stadium to lift the FA Community Shield.

Mikel Arteta’s men caught City completely off guard from the very first whistle, striking in the opening minute before controlling the rest of the game.

It was a completely ruthless performance from the Gunners, leaving Enzo Maresca’s side with zero answers throughout the match.

Myles Lewis-Skelly slipped a brilliant pass to Riccardo Calafiori, who finished cleanly just 24 seconds into the match to set the tone. Then Kai Havertz doubled the lead in the 28th minute, rising high to head home a pinpoint cross from debutant Christos Tzolis.

Just three minutes into the second half, captain Martin Ødegaard showed pure composure to sit down Gianluigi Donnarumma and slot into an open net.

A complete masterclass from Arsenal to kick off the new season with silverware and send a huge message to their Premier League rivals.
