The Nasara Foundation, in collaboration with the Islamic Enlightenment Foundation of Nigeria, will organise a free cataract surgery outreach for patients with cataract-related eye conditions in Kebbi State.
The Press Secretary to the wife of the Kebbi State Governor, Dauda Vanumu, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the four-day medical outreach will hold from Aug. 8 to Aug. 11 at the General Hospital, Koko, in Koko-Besse Local Government Area, beginning at 9:00 a.m. daily.
The initiative is being hosted by the wife of the governor, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, who is also the Founder and Chairperson of the Nasara Foundation, as part of efforts to improve access to quality eye care and restore the sight of indigent and vulnerable residents.
The foundation urged people living with cataracts and other eligible eye conditions to take advantage of the free screening and surgery.
It added that the outreach complements the Kebbi State Government’s efforts to improve healthcare delivery and forms part of its broader humanitarian programmes aimed at enhancing the wellbeing of residents.
Prospective beneficiaries were advised to arrive early for registration and screening throughout the exercise.
