Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom has called on all All Progressives Congress (APC) members in the state to actively participate in the ongoing membership revalidation exercise. the governor’s call is a strategic move to fortify the party’s foundation and identify its committed loyalists.

Eno set a precedent by validating his own membership at Ibiakpan Obotim Ward II in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area on Monday, receiving the first party registration number, 001. he then directly appealed to his political followers who had also defected with him to the APC to similarly get registered at their respective wards.

the governor underscored that the exercise is crucial for determining the genuine members and loyalists of the party, signaling a new phase of political consolidation and strength within the APC in Akwa Ibom.

“We should all go back to our wards to get registered with the party. This is necessary to prove our alignment and  loyalty to the party.
“The exercise will go on for a period of one month before it will be temporarily closed. The new membership register will be recognised to at the end of the exercise,” he said.
Eno used the occasion to urge Akwa Ibom people to remain committed to supporting his administration’s peace and developmental programmes.
