He has been acting for decades but he doesn’t own a bicycle , let alone a car. That is the sorry story of Adewale Alebiosu, one of the most popular herbalist/incantation actors in the Yoruba movie industry. His story has, however, changed – almost overnight.
This is courtesy of Agbala Gabriel outreach that has mobilised people to raise money for him. At the last count, Alebiosu is N5.3m rich. He cannot said to be richer because he had practically never been rich.
As a result, the actor, who says he is not a herbalist in real life, stressing that he is a Celestial evangelist, could not stop thanking Agbala Gabriel, the people, and God especially. According to him, he wants to establish a business that can support him.
Before the money was raised, Alebiosu also noted that he had got the call to establish his own church but he did not have the means to do so. Perhaps he will take a step in this direction too.
In recent times, Agbala Gabriel as well as actors Kunle Afod and comedian Kamo have helped to raise money for some veteran Yoruba actors.
