Engr Keneth Eze, Chairman, Senate Committee on Information and Orientation, says challenges facing Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) could be surmountable with commitment and dedication to service of the father land.
Eze, representing Ebonyi Central in the Senate, made the assertion on Friday during a visit by a team from the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Ebonyi Directorate, to his country home in Ezza-South local area of the state.
He noted that the NOA has enormous task to perform with the present administration of “Renewed Hope” for citizens.
According to the Senator, for Agencies to be effectively functional, the leadership of such agencies must be up and doing and equal to the task.
“The Nigerian system today does not need any slow movement to achieve its full green economy.
“I must tell you, this country is in a haste to feel the change and the impact of the new Government and this is the renewed hope administration.
“The hope of the citizens are to be renewed and I must tell you, the administration of President Ahmed Tinubu means well for the masses.
“We must make every facets of government to be on the top speed because we are seriously challenged and such can be surmountable with commitment,” he said.
Eze urged the NOA team to step up its campaign and sensitisation of the citizens on the nation’s values and culture.
“Look at our children and youth and insecurity in the country. The youth must be properly educated on the need to love his or her county.
“I urge you to go back and compile all the challenges facing your operations and articulate them. This is a wake up call for us to live up with the responsibility.
“This is time to stand strong in projecting and propagating our culture and values.
“Create programmes capable of effecting the change Nigerians need. Information is power and there is need to change the orientation of our youth to move the nation forward.
Earlier, Mr Mathew Odono, Director of NOA in Ebonyi, said that his team visited the Chairman, Senate Committee of Information, to familiarise with him in order to improve its operations in the state and Nigeria at large.
Odono listed some of the tools needed for effective operations to include vehicles and staff deficiency in the state.
“We want you to use your position to make it possible and make our task easier. We pledged our loyalty to you, the federal, state and the local government,” Odono added.
