As the presidential election tribunal upholds the victory of President Bola Tinubu in the February 25 election, one of the judges on the panel, Justice Moses Ugo, has dismissed the claim that the Independent Electoral Commission deliberately shut down its portal during the poll to favour him.
He said the outcome of the election in many states did not support the claim.
According to him, INEC must have been imbecilic if it so shut down the platform to favour Tinubu while he yet ended up scoring very low and those it did not favour scoring very high in the states he cited.
Justice Ugo gave the examples of Anambra, Ebonyi and Imo states where Tinubu had meagre scores while the Labour Party’s Peter Obi, got overwhelmingly high ones.
He also cited the example of Lagos State where Tinubu has influence, being a past governor there, but where Obi still polled more votes than him.
Adah also dismissed the European Union’s report tendered by the petitioners worthless since the authors were not available in court for cross-examination.
