A member of the presidential election tribunal, Justice Monsurat Bolaji-Yusuf, has berated the counsel of presidential candidates in February 25 election, Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar, in the way they handled their petitions at the tribunal.
The tribunal on Wednesday dismissed the petitions and affirmed President Bola Tinubu as duly elected.
In her judgement that conformed to the leading judgement, Bolaji-Yusuf noted that the petitioners failed to provide any meaningful evidence.
She wondered whether they expected the tribunal members to provide such for them and likened their efforts and calculations to going on fa fishing expedition.
The only female member of the panel, Justice Bolaji-Yusuf was born on August 7, 1959, in Oyo State. She was a High Court judge before being elevated to the Court of Appeal in 2014. Her notable decisions include invalidating actions related to the impeachment of former Governor Rashidi Ladoja in Oyo State and affirming Ifeanyi Ubah as a Senator.
