The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has finally addressed the allegation that he is the owner of elite Oriental Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos.

It is one of the assets that some have argued he owns, with such people saying the expatriates commanding the ownership are fronting for him.

It is the same way they claim he owns the Ikeja Shopping Mall, otherwise called ShopRite.

But, speaking in a documentary, Tinubu dissociates himself from the ownership of Oriental Hotel.

According to him, all he did was to create path for the investors to build it, the way he creates path for other legacies to emerge.

He says in the documentary shared on Twitter by Jibril Gawat, @Mr_JAGs, an aide to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, “Oriental Hotel was a refuse dump, miles of refuse along that corridor. It took several months of excavation and great investment for those investors to take the risk.

“Majority of those assets they claim are mine are not mine. I create(ed) economic path, a recovery path for Lagos.”
