Manager Michael Carrick confirmed that neither player made the trip to Spain due to physical issues sustained during Saturday’s 1-1 Premier League draw against Tottenham.
Both Mainoo and Shaw picked up physical setbacks during the draw against Spurs on Saturday. Shaw was taken off in stoppage time, while Mainoo finished the match but was unable to train on Monday.
Carrick’s Statement:
“They’ve not travelled; both picked up issues in the game on Saturday, working through that. Not available for the game tomorrow.”
Manchester United are facing an injury crisis in the squad with players like Benjamin Šeško, Patrick Dorgu, and Noussair Mazraoui unavailable, making it six total absentees for the clash at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.
