As controversy still greet some clerics’ attendance of the unveiling of the All Progressives Congress’ presidential running mate Kashim Shettima, a journalist, Sunny Onaji, has revealed the identity of one of them.
This is the one he identifies as Ambassador Ugokwe.
According to Onaji, Ugokwe is not a fake bishop but a practising cleric who is also a member of the APC.
Onaji writes in an article titled THE CONTROVERSY AROUND ‘PERCEIVED FAKE BISHOPS’ WITH MY FRIEND PRINCE AMBASSADOR UGOKWE IN FOCUS AT SHETTIMA’S UNVEILING, as shared on Facebook:
The crux of my article is the involvement of an ally, Prophet Ugokwe whom I know personally as a Pastor and a Politician. Ugokwe is passionate about this country which he had on several occasions reached out to me giving my media affiliation to collaborate to float programmes on radio geared towards the unity of this country. He had made effort through his several interventions I.e his Much Love Foundation and interreligious faith based intervention to broker unity and understanding among Nigerians.
No doubt, he is a card carrying member of the APC, he had before now contested for the youth leadership of the party in his home state, Imo state. For those who don’t know him, it will be easier for you to subscribe to the fictitious believe that he was hired to pose as a Bishop at the unveiling. It will interest you to know that, he was there in two capacities, as a member of the party and a clergy which he is unarguably qualified to be called because he is truly a prophet with his Church situated in Abuja, Nigeria which I am sure his members might be worried that he is being tagged ‘fake’ when in the real sense he is not.
My article is to address two things, one, Ambassador, Prophet Ugokwe is a Reverend and a Prophet on one hand, which I stand to prove because I know his exploit in ministry and his verifiable address even to his abode. On the other hand, he is a politician and a businessman, and I believe his appearance at the programme was not ill-thought and planned as purported by the general public, he was simply doing what he believes in as a Reverend and a politician as I had earlier described him to be.
Therefore, to set the record straight, Prophet Ugokwe is not fake and was not paid to appear fake even if he was paid, he is a man of God with his own Church and a card carrying member of the APC. This is to correct the misconception and misrepresentation of his person and calling.
