This sounds like the story of the British Prime Minister, Theresa May, who is resigning due to the country’s inability to yet get its act together on the controversial exist from the European Union, tagged, Brexit.
All her efforts to get Brexit executed at the EU have proved fruitless among lawmakers who believe that there can be better arrangements.

Announcing her decision to quit, she said, “Our politics may be under strain but there is so much that is good about this country. So much to be proud of. So much to be optimistic about. The honour of my life to be the second female prime minister, but certainly not the last.”
Erstwhile British PM, David Cameron, had also resigned when a referendum asked the country to get out of EU.
