Eid el-Fitr: A time to renew Nigeria’s pact with destiny – PDP

Deacon Chris Iyovwaye, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Delta, says he will focus on employment generation for youths, if elected.

Iyovwaye made this known on Wednesday when he paid a consultation visit to the party supporters in Warri South, Uvwie and Udu Local Government Areas of the state.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the consultation train began from the Warri South to Uvwie and climaxed at Udu Local Government Area.

According to Iyovwaye, youths constitute about 65 per cent of the population in Delta, describing them as the future leaders.

“I will resuscitate the moribund industries in the state through the Public Private Partnership (PPP) pact,” he said.

“As a businessman, I will focus on jobs creation for youths and I have all it takes to take the state to the next level.

“Delta is blessed with abundant human and natural resources” he said.

Iyovwaye called for their supports by voting for him in the forthcoming party primary election in the state.

The aspirant said he would use his wealth of experience to improve the state’s current Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

“I am here to present myself to you as a governorship aspirant. I have developed the capacity to turn things around in Delta.

“I will turn around the moribund industries in the state through PPP agreement to create jobs for our teeming youths who are the future leaders,” he said.

Iyovwaye said the world had become a global economy, where businesses were done 24 hours daily.

The aspirant said that he would use technological innovations to uplift the state’s fortune.

Responding, Mr Johnson Agbeyegbe, the PDP Chairman in Warri South, said that the delegates in Warri South were guarded by integrity, assuring him of their support.

“We have enlightened delegates in Warri South, whose guardian is integrity and not the money that comes their ways,” Agbeyegbe said.

Also, the party Chairman in Uvwie, Mr Efe Okotedo, thanked the governorship hopeful for his coming and assured him that they would vote for him.
