With Angela’s death, I’ve lost a daughter and friend – Ajimobi’s wife

Chief (Mrs) Florence Ajimobi, widow of the late former Gov. Abiola Ajimobi and his family have expressed sadness over the shocking death of Angela, wife of Sen. Teslim Folarin (APC-Oyo Central).

This is contained in a statement made available to newsmen on Saturday in Ibadan, after a telephone conversation with Sen. Folarin.

Angela, a legal practitioner, died on Friday afternoon in UK.

The former Governor’s wife, who is also the President, Senator Abiola Ajimobi Foundation (SAAF), described the late Angela as full of life and sincerity.

Ajimobi said that her death came at a time when her support was needed the most.

“It is with deep sense of grief that I commiserate with the family, friends, associates and loved ones of Mrs Angela Folarin, who passed on Saturday.

“Angela was youthful, lively, full of life and energy, a willing handy to help and a ready supportive shoulder.

“Her death is a personal loss to me and my immediate family as I have just lost a daughter and friend,” she said.

Ajimobi prayed that God would grant her gentle and beautiful soul eternal rest and strengthen her family in this trying times.

“I commiserate with my brother in-law, Sen. Teslim Folarin, on the death of his beloved wife. I know how deeply it hurts to lose one’s spouse, especially a supportive and dotting one.

“I know you are grieving now; in the words of Queen Elizabeth 11, ‘Grief is the price we pay for love’. I pray Almighty God will uphold and strengthen you at this trying time.

“May He comfort and keep you strong. My heartfelt condolence also goes to the children and members of her immediate family.

“In all these, we take solace in the supreme comfort God can give,” she said.

Also, Idris Abiola-Ajimobi, on behalf of the late Ajimobi’s family, said that death of the lawmaker’s wife, called for fervent prayers for Ibadanland, Oyo State and Nigeria.

The late Ajimobi’s son said: “Aunty Angela died at a time her husband needed her support, urging Sen. Folarin to accept the death as the will of God.

“Madam Angela was a great wife of Ibadanland. Her death came at the time her husband needs her support. I know her to be a good wife, a caring and dearest Sister.

“I, therefore, call on indigenes of Ibadanland and Oyo State, as a whole, to devote time for prayers for the state.”

He recalled the recent deaths of former Gov. Adebayo Alao-Akala; Oba Saliu Adetunji, the Olubadan of Ibadanland; Oba Jimoh Oyewunmi, Soun of Ogbomoso and hosts of other prominent indigenes of the state.

According to him, I condole with my Uncle, Sen. Teslim Kolawole Folarin, on the demise of his wife.

“I pray God, in His infinite mercies, will comfort him and the family of the late wife,” Abiola-Ajimobi said
