Lagos, Jan. 20, 2022 (NAN) The Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society (NASFAT) Nigeria on Thursday said that it would review its education policy in order to be at par with contemporary demands for improved knowledge.
The President of the religious group with focus on prayer, youth education and moral upbringing, Mr Olaniyi Mumini-Yusuf, made the disclosure of the imminent policy review in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.
NAN reports that religious bodies in Nigeria are of the belief that better and sustainable education system can be achieved if they are permitted to manage schools by themselves, hence their various interventions to complement government’s efforts.
Mumini-Yusuf, who spoke against the backdrop of the organisation’s projection for 2022, said that the religious group was committed to improving knowledge base and education of members continues to be a very important cornnerstone of the group.
According to him the group encourages the study of Arabic, Qur’an, competitions and quiz to improve members’ understanding of the scriptures to aviod being misled.
“A revised education policy and quality assurance framework will be unveiled soon to codify our standard and infuse technology, ethics, leadership and entrepreneurship into the curriculum.
“No doubt, this will enhance learning outcomes and ensure we prepare children to be competative and at par with their counterparts in othe developed climes.
“To drive the youth developmental project, 53 teachers have been enrolled in leadership training by external body at the instance of NASFAT,” he said.
He added that the organisation would contiune to encourage scholarship among youth through JAMB UMTE coaching classes in the group’s branches and also provide subsidy for the purchase of forms for external examinations.(
