The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in Bauchi State on Monday commenced a five-day entrepreneurship training for no fewer than 100 unemployed youths in the state.
Speaking during the commencement of the exercise in Bauchi, the Director-General of NDE, Malam Abubakar Fikpo, said the training would broaden the minds of participants.
Fikpo, who was represented by NDE State Coordinator, Mr Lawan Yaya, said that the training was designed to expose the participants to entrepreneurial skills.
He said that the training would also introduce the participants to loan granting agencies.
Fikpo who said the training was taking place in all the 36 states of the federation and the FCT, said the exercise was in collaboration Nazee Mursaj Consultants.
“We feel that to achieve our mandate, there is need for us to have an entrepreneurship training that will broaden your minds.
“The training will also open participants’ eyes to the nitty-gritty of how to access these Federal Government intervention programmes.
“There are various loan granting institutions such as Bank of Agriculture, Bank of Industry, Nirsal Micro Finance Bank of the CBN that are giving out loans to Nigerians.
“However, most people don’t get the loans when they apply because they don’t know the nitty-gritty of accessing these loans.
“You will be introduced to various business ideas and topics that will pave way for you to actualise your dreams as entrepreneurs by accessing the loan granting agencies to become your own boss,” he said.
The NDE boss said the participants were randomly selected across the 20 local government areas of the state.
