Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has alleged that Twitter founder, Jack Dorsey, is among those who funded the ENDSARS protests that rocked Nigeria last year.
He said investigations had revealed so, adding that the international social media companies were also guilty of not paying taxes to the Federal Government.
Mohammed said this in Abuja on Wednesday, while briefing state house correspondents on matters arising from the ban placed on Twitter.
He, however, noted that the micro blogger giant had been discussing with the government towards resolving the matter.
He alleged that Twitter and other social media service providers/over-the-top media players had been cheating Nigeria by way of not paying their due taxes.
According to Lai Mohammed, the federal government has come to the resolution that all OTT service providers that wish to continue operating in Nigeria must be registered as Nigerian companies. He also disclosed that investigations revealed that the Founder of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, was one of the funders of the #ENDSARS protest in Nigeria in 2020.
