Even as the Presidency keeps mum over the resignation of the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen, his lawyer, Adegboyega Awomolo (SAN), has confirmed the CJN’s resignation.
According to him, Onnoghen resigned on Thursday, saying he acted in the interest of the judiciary.

“I have just spoken with him. He confirmed to me that he resigned yesterday.

“He said he resigned in the interest of the Judiciary,” Awomolo is quoted by ‘The Nation’ as saying.
