Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has congratulated elder statesman and former governor of the state, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, on his 71st birthday.
In a congratulatory message issued on Friday in Kano by the Commissioner of Information and Internal Affairs, Sanusi Bature, Governor Yusuf lauded Shekarau’s enduring contributions to public service, education, and community development.
Yusuf highlighted Shekarau’s background as an educationist and civil servant, noting his two-term tenure as governor from 2003 to 2011, as well as his subsequent service as a federal minister and senator.
The governor emphasized that Shekarau’s leadership experience remains vital to the democratic growth, peace, and unity of Kano State. He prayed for continued good health, long life, and wisdom for the former governor.
