The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has warned that computer-based test (CBT) centres failing to meet its operational standards will be denied accreditation for the 2027 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
JAMB Registrar, Professor Segun Aina, outlined the requirements during a meeting with the leadership of the Chief External Examiners to review preparations for the upcoming accreditation exercise.
According to a statement shared on the board’s official X account on Thursday, approval will strictly depend on centres possessing adequate facilities, reliable technical infrastructure, and the operational capacity to prevent exam disruptions.
The board emphasized that accreditation will not be automatic, noting that the rigorous screening process is designed to eliminate inadequately equipped venues and ensure a secure, standard examination environment for all candidates nationwide.
JAMB added that the exercise will directly target recurring technical deficiencies and infrastructure gaps to guarantee a seamless examination process during the 2027 UTME cycle.
