The Makinde-Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation (MDPCO) has inaugurated its National Campaign Management Committee (NCMC), with a focus on grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Vice-Presidential candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), Alhaji Lawal Daura, made the call on Tuesday in Abuja during the inauguration of the committee.

Daura said the campaign would target Nigeria’s 103 million registered voters and described a national reset as necessary to address the country’s challenges.

“Therefore, the resetting is the only solution so far that can get Nigeria right. And by resetting, it means every other thing that has been configured in Nigeria needs to be looked at, amended, changed, replaced, or whatever,” he said.

He also warned those seeking to manipulate the electoral process, saying the committee was prepared to protect votes in accordance with the Electoral Act.

“For those who really want to rig, that they can pull a fast one, well, they have a surprise coming,” he said.

Daura said the committee comprised individuals with proven records of success and charged them to demonstrate boldness, focus and determination.

APM National Chairman, Yusuf Dantalle, urged members to focus on delivering the joint ticket of Seyi Makinde and Maman Daura in 2027, saying unity would be critical to the coalition’s success.

He urged members from diverse social, religious and political backgrounds to work together despite differences and challenges.

Dantalle said the ability to resolve internal disagreements peacefully would demonstrate the coalition’s capacity to govern the country.

He cautioned that the inauguration was only a first step and called for effective coordination with party structures at all levels to translate the campaign into electoral victory.

“I appeal to all of us and for those who have been inaugurated today. Yes, while I congratulate you for this achievement, it is in itself not a success until that is able to transform into victory for all of us,” he said.

The Director-General of the committee, Mr Felix Hyat, assured the party leadership that the team would work to deliver victory in the 2027 elections.

Hyat expressed confidence in the presidential candidate’s security expertise and governance record in Oyo State.

He also urged northern youths to consider regional power rotation and reject politics based solely on religion or ethnicity, while encouraging them to vote for candidates with the capacity to deliver.
