President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has a message for Nigeria, and he is not sugar-coating it: stop importing what you can produce at home.
The Dangote Group delivered that warning at the Abuja International Trade Fair, where Group General Manager Abdullahi Bello Danmusa took the stage for the Dangote Special Day and laid out a simple but uncomfortable truth.
“Trade becomes more meaningful when it is supported by production. No country can build lasting resilience by depending excessively on imports that it has the capacity to produce competitively at home,”
Danmusa said, speaking on the theme “Resilience: Trade, Taxation and the Economy.”
