Shareholders of PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc have approved a final dividend payout of N9.926bn for the 2026 financial year, at the company’s 78th Annual General Meeting held at Fraser Suites, Abuja.
Ifueko Okauru, Chair of the Board of Directors of PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc, said each shareholder would receive a final dividend of N2.50 per ordinary share of 50 kobo, payable on 6 November 2026.
Okauru said the board had also approved a Scrip Dividend Scheme, under which qualifying shareholders may elect to receive new ordinary shares in lieu of all or part of their cash dividend entitlement.
She attributed the payout to a restructured balance sheet and improved operating performance. “Our performance is improving year-on-year, and we will continue to leverage our strategic operating model and a more stable macroeconomic environment to drive growth and create value for all stakeholders,” she said.
Patrick Ajudua, Chairman of the New Dimension Shareholders Association, credited management with financial prudence and deleveraging, noting the balance sheet moved from a negative equity position of N17.3bn to positive N66.6bn.
Peter Essien, Chairman of the Viewpoint Shareholders Association, Uyo, said shareholders were satisfied with growth over recent years. “Special kudos to the board and management of the company for the outstanding performance recorded for the financial year ended 31 May 2026,” he said.
Okauru said the company remains focused on growth and value creation following the conclusion of the Strategic Review of its African businesses, in which the parent company decided to retain its Nigerian operation within the wider Group.
PZ Cussons Nigeria, with over 140 years of heritage, produces Morning Fresh, Premier, Cussons Baby, Carex, Imperial Leather and Canoe, alongside Haier Thermocool appliances. It is headquartered in Ilupeju, Lagos.
