Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated Nigeria’s First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, on her 66th birthday, commending her commitment to the welfare of vulnerable Nigerians.
In a congratulatory message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon, on Monday in Asaba, Oborevwori described Tinubu as a compassionate woman whose humanitarian interventions had continued to complement the Federal Government’s efforts to address the needs of vulnerable citizens.
He also described her as an “Amazon” whose public engagements and support for her husband, President Bola Tinubu, had contributed to initiatives aimed at improving the lives of the downtrodden and less privileged.
According to the governor, the First Lady has demonstrated that public service goes beyond occupying positions of authority to showing compassion and using one’s influence to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
He said her commitment to women, children, families and other vulnerable groups had earned her goodwill and appreciation across different walks of life.
Oborevwori added that her experience as a former teacher, lawmaker and First Lady had positioned her to understand the challenges facing families and communities, particularly those on the margins of society.
He also acknowledged her advocacy for social welfare, empowerment and human capital development, noting that such interventions were important to building a more inclusive and equitable society.
“Tinubu has continued to support the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President through programmes and initiatives designed to provide opportunities and relief for Nigerians in need,” he said.
The governor further commended her resilience, dedication and service to the nation, noting that her contributions extended beyond the ceremonial responsibilities of her office.
He prayed for God to grant her continued good health, wisdom and strength to sustain her humanitarian engagements and contributions to national development.
Oborevwori wished the First Lady many more years of fulfilment and service, assuring her of the goodwill and prayers of the government and people of Delta State.
“On behalf of the government and people of Delta, we celebrate an Amazon who has continued to support her beloved husband in making life meaningful for the downtrodden and less privileged in our society,” he said.
