Veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko has revealed that the emergence of social media once raised concerns among older practitioners who feared the new technology could push them out of the entertainment industry.
Kosoko recalled that social media initially appeared to pose a threat to actors who were not familiar with the rapidly changing digital space.
However, the veteran actor said the industry eventually adjusted as younger practitioners helped the older generation navigate the new technology.
According to him, what initially appeared to be a threat later became a useful tool for entertainment practitioners, allowing them to adapt to the changing demands of the industry.
Kosoko also touched on the growing influence of artificial intelligence, admitting that the technology remains difficult for him to fully understand.
His reflections highlight how dramatically Nollywood has evolved, moving from a largely traditional industry to one increasingly shaped by social media, digital content and emerging technologies.
