Brazil and Real Madrid legend Roberto Carlos made a devastating statement about his life off the pitch , revealing that he lost nearly all of his estimated £133 million fortune due to rogue agents, bad management, and severe family legal disputes.
Speaking in a recent interview, the 2002 World Cup winner took full responsibility for his mistakes while warning younger players to take complete control of their money before it’s too late.
He said, “I had problems with people who left me with zero money. Because of agents and family problems, I lost 99 per cent of everything I had earned in football.”
“On a Thursday, I went to bed at midnight, and on Friday, I received a bunch of papers I didn’t even know existed. That’s when I lost my entire history.”
“I made mistakes, and that’s why I ask younger players not to make the same mistakes. You have to think about your life after football and leverage your image properly.”
